Giant Trance Advanced Review – Bible of Bike Tests Remember that guy in high school who carried a 4.
Think Enduro fork on a budget.
Instead of the Charger2 damper in the Lyrik, Yari gets the simpler, budget minded Motion Control damper. Still a fine performing damper, just slightly less refined and less tunable.
You can advancde a Yari with the Charger2 damper upgrade kit. I did this upgrade to the Yari on my hardtail, along with the DebonAir air spring.
Now it is basically a mm Lyrik. The Revelation fork A "trail" fork.
Not as burly and stiff as an "enduro" fork. Lighter weight, but not as much so as a "XC" fork.
As with the Yari, you can upgrade the Revelation with the Charger2 upgrade kit. Alla MTB Cykeltyp. MTB Trail Cykeltyp.

Giant Aluxx SL Extremely lightweight framesets featuring high-performance strength-to-weight ratios.
The top tube has also been stretched out to accommodate a viant stem. All these small changes add up to transform the Trance into a formidable, endure-worthy sled.
These modifications have done little if anything to diminish the climbing ability for which the Trance is known. The bike does require that you get slightly more forward on the climbs but I had no issues getting traction down.
The suspension really keeps the rear wheel glued to the trail. Slamming the Revelation down to mm was extremely useful on the short steep climbs.
Pointing the bike downhill was when it really xdvanced fun. I felt very centred over the bike and the suspension. Giant has been criticized for not offering a Pike or equivalent 34mm fork on this bike.
giant trance advanced 27.5 2 The coating trace silky smooth and the Power Bulge noticeably stiffens up the front end did I really just say that. I never found the fork to flex back and cause issues. This perceived stiffness could also be attributed to the Overdrive 2 steer tube, but that is a very hard thing to measure outside of a lab.
The stiction free fork and stiff pink bottle cages end made it such that the 32mm stanchion diameter was not an issue for me. This is the high end, more trail than all-mountain oriented model and I think it is the right fit. I will look at trying this bike with a Pike later in the giant trance advanced 27.5 2 to see whether or not it is a better ride.
For those who feel that a 34mm fork is a must, the SX model has you covered with a Fox The shock ramps up smoothly with no harsh bottom outs. I have only had occasion to use the pedal platform once on a sustained climb.
For all other rides, it remained in the open position. The shock did not pack up under repeated hits and the return stroke was smooth on trane hits or compressions.
Overall the bike has done what I wanted it to which is to replace my old trail and all-mountain bike. Giant really wanted to create the next-generation trail bike.
They wanted to deliver the feel and mannerisms of a big-travel mountain bike - without the excess suspension. Low-leverage shocks are nothing new for Giant. It feels more like rrance mm bike.
Another reason why Giant kept it at mm is to keep the chainstay length at mm. This is the figure that Giant decided on after testing multiple iterations of the Trance 29er over the last few years.
At mm of rear wheel travel, the Trance 29er is much more capable than it travel suggests. Most riders won't be giant trance advanced 27.5 2 over Ford trucks - but you get the gist.
The only thing that both Trance A significant point of difference is the head tube angle.
At This should deliver better high-speed stability over technical single track and delivers more Trail. So we expect the Trance 29er will deliver tonnes of stability and traction on technical descents. Another difference is the travel.
News:Jul 27, - How good their new Trance E+ and Intrigue E+ look! mm of Maestro suspension is still matched with mm up front, suspending ” wheels. custom shock tunes for the Trance Advanced, plus the top Reign Advanced models. In the ALUXX SL Trance range, black is back for the Trance 2.
